We’re looking for a seasoned and strategic Account Director to lead client relationships and drive business growth for our Torontop Hub. This role is pivotal in managing high-profile healthcare accounts, acting as the primary liaison between clients and our Toronto delivery team, and ensuring the seamless execution of cutting-edge marketing campaigns.

The Account Director will bring expertise in healthcare marketing, a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, and a passion for building lasting partnerships with clients who are shaping the future of health.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the senior relationship lead for healthcare clients, ensuring trust, satisfaction, and long-term loyalty.
  • Understand client business goals, challenges, and market dynamics to offer innovative, tailored marketing solutions.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, offering strategic insights and proactive recommendations to strengthen campaigns.
  • Partner with clients to co-develop integrated marketing strategies that reflect local market trends and cultural nuances.
  • Translate client objectives into actionable plans for the Toronto delivery team, ensuring alignment on deliverables and timelines.
  • Offer data-driven recommendations by analyzing campaign performance, market trends, and client feedback to refine strategies.
  • Serve as the key bridge between clients and the Toronto delivery team, ensuring smooth handoffs and efficient project execution.
  • Work cross-functionally with creative, strategy, and production teams to align deliverables with client expectations and agency standards.
  • Advocate for client needs within the agency while balancing internal capabilities and timelines.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts, pitching new initiatives and value-added services to expand relationships.
  • Actively contribute to new business efforts by leveraging market insights, building proposals, and participating in pitches for healthcare clients.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts within the healthcare ecosystem, including providers, payers, and biotech companies.
  • Stay informed about local and national healthcare trends, including policy shifts, market challenges, and innovations in care delivery.
  • Provide clients with thought leadership on industry developments, positioning Gene as a trusted partner in healthcare branding.
  • Actively participate in relevant industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance the agency’s visibility in the market.


Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of account management experience, with at least 3 years in healthcare marketing. Proven success in managing high-value accounts and building trusted client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with a demonstrated ability to align marketing efforts with client business objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset. Ability to build rapport, navigate complex client needs, and maintain calm under pressure.
  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem, including its players, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Outstanding organizational skills to juggle multiple projects while coordinating across teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred but not required.
